After cure I was not able to make the hangers come loose just by pulling on the nail and that is plenty strong to support the foam board. I squeezed a donut shape about the size of a quarter on the hanger instead of just a blob in the center and that worked well for me. Once I started using a larger amount they all stayed in place, even on the ceiling. I started off by trying to save on adhesive at first but a few of the hangers fell off before the adhesive had time to cure. I probably used a little too much but I didnt want to do any rework. I used 12 tubes to install 1,000 insulation hangers.
